Summary: The resolution expresses serious concern over human rights violations in Tibet, including the death of a young monk during a “patriotic education” session, the imprisonment and likely torture of other monks, and the blockade of Drepung Monastery.

It calls on China to release detained monks, end violent crackdowns on peaceful protests, halt the patriotic education campaign, provide information on detainees’ conditions, and continue dialogue with the Dalai Lama’s representatives.

The resolution also urges China to improve human rights generally, respect freedom of religion and expression, and demands once again the immediate release of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.
