In this resolution, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Chamber of Deputies calls on the Italian Government to raise Tibet-related concerns with China at the EU–China Summit.
It urges China to immediately end violence against Tibetans and Tibetan religious figures, create conditions for dialogue and tolerance, and resume talks with representatives of the Dalai Lama to reach a mutually agreed solution providing genuine autonomy for Tibetans.
The resolution also calls for the reopening of Tibet to the outside world and for free and unconditional access for international media, as well as increased UN monitoring of the human rights situation in Tibet.
