In this statement, the European Union welcomes the fifth round of talks between representatives of the Dalai Lama and the Chinese Government and expresses strong support for the continuation of dialogue.
The EU hopes that both sides "will be willing to address in good faith substantive issues in order to find pragmatic solutions which can contribute to a peaceful and sustainable settlement for Tibet that both sides agree upon."
